Spam with a Conscience

14th of May, 2008

I found this in my spam box and laughed so hard I almost choked on my coffee.

Like mankind itself, spam has become depressive and self-loathing.  Just like us, it's now apologising for its existance (links removed, of course):

Hello, Your site is perfect, sorry for my post home insurance car insurance health insurance sorry one more time

Next thing you know, spam will launch a 'green' movement where it offsets its damage to the internet by posting quality content.  Some spammers may even go 'off the grid' and make sure they're only spamming themselves.

The children of spammers will write songs about littered information superhighways and celebrity spammers will be seen wiping their sticky spam off endangered wild websites.

That spam comment was almost apologetic.  Wonder how the spammer plans to atone for his sin now that he seems to have grown a conscience? (”sorry one more time” LOL!) I still think I found one of the most entertaining piece of spam here: http://joniverse.com/1542/scary-stuff

That is the funniest spam ever!

Spammers please note, if you spam me with something funnier than that, I’ll post it with the links in place :p

It is amusing what tricks spammers continue to try. I’ve had some similar comments left on my own site, though thankfully they don’t see the light of day.
