Gritty Živka

I tried to make this picture a little more gritty and give it an older more film-like appearance perhaps.  It's not particularly flattering to my poor mother, but I think the washed out colours and high-pass play definitely give the picture more character.  I'll have to try this again with a picture of someone who isn't putting on a cheesy grin.

The only really disappointing thing about it for me is the halo which the process has generated most noticably around her earring.  There's no way to avoid that unfortunately, and I didn't want to resort to cloning it out -- though I would certainly seek to remove it for any serious use.
